MAP always focus to give opportunities to lay people, MAP members and coordinators to attended theological trainings and workshops to widen their knowledge and get formation respectively in different theological topics and apply in their life practically.
a. Studies of Bible
Ms. Ruth Naz (coordinator- Sadhoke Group) of Maktaba-e-Anaveem Pakistan (MAP) attended a four days’ workshop on “Studies of Bible” held from 30 January to 2 February 2019 at Loyola Hall, Lahore. The purpose of the workshop was how to give introduction of the bible and challenges in the interpretation of bible. 67 members from different congregations and institutes (religious sisters and brothers and lay persons) attended the workshop.
b. Transforming Theological Education in Pakistan –TEF Conference
Nominee from Makataba-e-Anaveem Pakistan (MAP) Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Asi (Chairperson-MAP) and Ms. Nomi Munir (MAP-staff) attended a three days Annual Conference. The conference was organized by Theological Educator’s Forum from February 26-28, 2019 at OTS office, Lahore. The theme of the annual conference was: “Transforming Theological Education in Pakistan”. 65 members from 32 theological Institutions, Churches, Para-Church organizations and NGOs took part in the conference. The conference specifically aimed to get together these institutions to learn from each other. If we want to develop people who sacrificially serve their communities, we need to recruit teachers and theological leaders who are committed to sacrificial service in the institutions. “Leaders not made not born” so the purpose of our teaching should be the key to transformative learning.
c. National Feminist Convening
Women Theological Forum (WTF) is a plat form for women to give them opportunities and chances to broaden their thinking and abilities. In feminist theological perspective they are urged to focus on, realize their role for the betterment in society. On 6-7 April 2019, a National Feminist Convening organized by ShirkatGah – Women’s Resource Centre, Lahore. Mrs. AlishbahJaved Akhtar (Directress-MAP) and Ms. Nomi Munir (Staff member) from Maktaba-e-Anaveem Pakistan (MAP) attended this National Feminist Convening.
The purpose of this convening is to analyze the women’s issues, both persistent and newly emerging ones. It offers to feminists and other social justice activists from multifarious background from across the Pakistan a space for furthering discussions, deepening analyses and sharing innovative strategies to address in our context issues. This will help WTF plat form to relate the current issues in the theological perspective in new way.
d. The Formation of Scripture & Birth of Jewish Religion
Nominees from Maktaba-e-Anaveem Pakistan (MAP) Ms. Ruth Naz (coordinator –Sadhoke Group), MsAshfa Shoukat (group member Sadhoke group) and Ms. Tania Shoukat (group member Sadhoke) attended a biblical Studies workshop from the 7 to 9 June 2019 at Loyola Hall, Lahore. The main theme of the workshop was “The Formation of Scripture & Birth of Jewish Religion”. This is a following workshop aimed with to elaborate the context and circumstances in the formation of Scripture. The participants also learnt how the Jewish Religion came into birth. Total 60 Participants from different congregations and institutes (religious sisters and brothers and lay persons) attended the workshop.
e. A brief of on Pauline Corpus
From 23-25 August 2019 two nominees from Maktaba-e-Anaveem Pakistan (MAP) Ms. Tania Shoukat (group member, Sadhoke group) and Ms. Cynthia (group member, Sadhoke group) attended a three days workshop on “Studies on Bible”. The participants introduced Pauline Theology and contemplation on God’s Salvation Plan. Through workshops and group discussion they eagerly participated. 50 participants from different congregations and institutes (religious sisters and brothers and lay persons) attended the workshop.
d. Targets and Achievements
On 1st October 2019 a one day staff capacity building workshop entitled “Targets and Achievement” conducted by Catholic Bible Commission Pakistan (CBCP), Lahore. Four staff members from Maktaba-e-Anaveem Pakistan (MAP) attended this workshop. Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Asi (Chairperson-MAP) was the facilitator of the workshop. He demonstrated the easy way to control our daily work through different strategies. We can enhance our abilities. He conducted workshop by giving little projects. The groups discussed it in their groups and shared their projects reports. Total 13 members from MAP staff and CBCP staff attended this one day workshop.
e. Apocalyptic Literature & Study of Book of Revelation
Three participants from Maktaba-e-Anaveem Pakistan (MAP) Ms. Ruth Naz (coordinator-Sadhoke group), Ms. Ashfa Shoukat (Asst. Coordinator-Sadhoke group) and Ms. Tania Shoukat (group members-Sadhoke group) attended three days workshop on “Apocalyptic Literature & Study of Book of Revelation”. The workshop commenced from 8-10 November, 2019 at Loyala Hall, Lahore. Through workshops and lectures the Apocalyptic Literature & Study of Book of Revelation introduced to participants. 50 participants from religious communities and lay persons attended the biblical workshop.
