Summer Theological Training Session (STTS) 2018

Maktaba-e-Anaveem Pakistan (MAP) organized 4-days annual Summer Theological Training Session (STTS) for MAP Coordinators, Assistant Coordinators and members. The Training session held from 29 June to 3 July 2018 at Theological Institute for Laity (TIL), G. T. Road, Sadhoke, Distt: Gujranwala. The theme of the program was “Training Session for MAP Coordinators”. The solemn Holy Mass was celebrated by Rev. Fr. Rashid Alfonse (Assistant Parish Priest, St. Ignatius Parish, Lahore, and Rev. Fr. Benjamin Joseph.

The topics were related to Federation of Asian Bishops’ Conferences (FABC), such as History, Foundation, Context and Theology of FABC, The Role and Relationship of the Laity in the Church, The Vocation and Mission of the Laity in the Church and in the World of Asia, and Christian Discipleship in Asia Today: Service of Life. Mr. Faryad Francis, Fr. Gulshan Barkat, Mr. Hamid Henry and Ms. Noureen Akhtar spoke on the topics respectively. Mr. Joseph Sadiq conducted a special session on leadership training.

The participants had an exposure visit to Jurian-Hafizabad, the native village of Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Asi. All Coordinators shared their views about Fr. Emmanuel Asi and his great effort for uplifting and empowering the laity.

The certification distribution conducted at the end of STTS. There were 90 participants from different cities: Karachi, Hyderabad, Kotri, Mirpurkhas, Khairpur Marish, Sakkhar, Jurian, Hafizabad, Toba Tek Singh, Attock, Khusphur, Sangala Hill, Sargodha, Farooqabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Harpoke and Sadhoke.
