Maktaba-e-Anaveem Pakistan (MAP) conducted a program on 8 March 2019 to celebrate the international women’s day. The program started with prayer led by Ms. Malika Karamat and reading of Holy scripture by Ms. Nasra Salamat (group members-Sadhoke).
Ms. Nomi Munir gave brief history of Women’s Day. She explained as to how it was started and how women struggle was influenced by their hardships in the initial era. She said women were considered weak, voiceless, worthless and had no identity in the patriarchy society. They were exploited in every sphere of life and treated as slaves. But with the passage of time women came to know about their importance. They raised their voices to get their equal rights in the society. The participants also shared their views about the state of women in the society as well as deplorable conditions of women.
In the end the cake of women’s day was cut. 45 women including MAP staff from the Father Satani Selas Town, Christian Colony, Sadhoke and Sadhoke group members attended the program.
